Each year Filmmaker Magazine puts out a list of talent worth keeping an eye on in the independent film world. And each year there seems to be someone with ties to the Austin film world. Past Austinites on the list include Joe Nicolosi and Andrew Bujalski.
This year it?s Treva Wurmfeld, who appears on the 15th annual list on the promise of her film ?Shepard and Dark,? a documentary that chronicles the relationship between actor and playwright Sam Shepard and his friend Johnny Dark.
The part-time Austinite and New York native completed post-production on the film at Richard Linklater?s Detour Productions, with the help of longtime Linklater collaborator Sandra Adair, who edited the film.
Wurmfeld says ?Shepard and Dark? will make its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
